Restrict number of posts

Hi all, I want to let a particular usergroup have a maximum of 3 posts before they need to subscribe, can VB or a particular mod provide this functionality?

Thanks in anticipation:)

Subscribe as in a paid subscription? Or are you talking about the "Thread Subscriptions" feature?

Paid subscription. I want regular registered users to only be able to post a few times. If they want to continue to post then they can subscribe, which will auto place them in a group where they can post as much as they like.

Is there a mod that will restrict the number of posts that an individual user/group can make. I have seen this feature on a Nukesite, but can't find anything similar built in to VB

You can use the usergroup promotion feature, to "promote" them into a usergroup with less permissions. Then add a "Notice" to tell them they need to subscribe.

Yes i understand about the promote feature, thanks. But the question remains, how can I restrict the number of posts a user group member can make. All I can see is that they can post or they can't. I want to restrict a certain group to a maximum of 3 posts only. Can VB or a mod do this.

Thanks

I think he's answered your question. Now you're going to have to learn to use the promotions system yourself, nobody's going to give you a step by step here.

It's exactly what I've described to you. After 3 posts, they will be moved into another usergroup, which you would have set with no posting permissions.
