How do I call total # threads from specific forum?

Hello, I want to know if it's possible to display the total number of threads from a specific forum on the what's going on box?

That's the forum I'm trying to call the threads from, however it shows up zero, is there anyway to get it to work seeing as it's a main forum for other subforums?
