Creating a mod
Hello,
I recently made some template modifications to a default style. Now I would like to release these modifications as a product (xml file including a bunch of pictures) Ive never done this before, could anyone perhaps explain where to start? Best regards, Cor |
Are these new templates or did you modify existing default templates?
|
Hi Marco,
In this case existing default templates (for this release) Also, I'm planning to do some changes on the vB Blog product, again existing default templates; would it matter it's a seperate product here? |
You should never distribute default templates with a product. Doing so would overwrite them in the MASTERSTYLE and it will be impossible to revert to the default version.
You do not want to edit/publish changes in the MATERSTYLE. Instead create a new style, edit the templates you need, and export it as a Style. |
It is always best just to tell users the template edits in a README file or in your modification post. Then they also know how to remove it if they want to uninstall your modification. ;)
