New Skin

IrishRepublican.net , like the new skin?

nexialys 07-05-2008 12:45 PM

nope... horrible... far from being Irish

rounded corners is so obsolete.

please consider deactivating locked icons so your site does not look like blocked for visitors... all your forums are locked, it's not cool to see...

use notices for your announcements instead of adding a block in the navbar... because your Moderators Apps is showing even for guests... do you plan on hiring guests as moderators?!

and having your first tab in your top navigation going to a complete different site is illogical... you want people to go elsewhere before entering your site?!

Thanks so much. Is there nothing positive?
The aim of the forum is not to be stereotypically Irish, no leprechauns or any of that. Simply for formal debate.

How do I remove locks? (Cannot remember)

Notices will not display? EDIT - working now

Externally linked tab removed.

Thanks again mate

you do not need to have leprechauns to be irish... colors and some political symbols would do the trick, as your site tend to be for republicans...

you asked for a review of your skin, and i think it's not representative, so this is not my positive side...

and though i'm scotish, i can't have positive feedbacks.. LOL

XYZ1234 07-05-2008 01:20 PM

haha no problem.

I could get a new banner made? with flags and such, would that do it?

Is there any other problems with the forum?

The style itself looks defaultish, in otherwords, looks like your average default vbulletin install style. The irish colours (Green, white and orange) don't compliment the blue theme you have opted for. As Mr X stated, you don't have to have leprechauns, clovers etc to give the style that prominent irish feel. However, you can help yourself by including the colours that compliment that irish feel by designing a generic style and implement the appropriate colours and (as Mr X stated) apply some political related symbols.

And to anwser your question the anwser is no, designing a new logo would not be enough to give your forum that feel that myself and Mr X spoke of.

Goodluck regardless.

Edit Hmmmmmm.

Thanks :)
Could I change the colour scheme of the current skin?

Shelley_c 07-05-2008 02:24 PM

You could change the areas that don't include images to the colour of your preference though for the images you would need a graphics editor to make the colour changes. Ask az over at gfxstyles if she as the psds and she might give them to you to make such changes.

Yep, will do. Thanks
