How do I change the outgoing mail server?
 

Hello there,

I was wondering, how do I change the outgoing mail server on vBulletin? I would like vBulletin to use a separate server for just the emails going out instead of the server the forum is on (subscription emails, activation emails, etc...).

It's an unusual request but it'll really make a huge difference for me if I could manage to do this.

Ok,

I think I figured out how to change the mail server however, I'm now getting returned emails because of this error:

This message has been rejected because it has
an overlength date field which can be used
to subvert Microsoft mail programs

Is there a way to change the overlength date field so this doesn't happen in the future?

You can change the server in the Admin CP, probably under "Server Settings".

Any errors you encounter should be taken up with the administrator/host of the other server.
