webChattr: Live Chat Rooms for Web and iPhone Users
Staff note: This modification has been removed as the services used by this modification are not available anymore.
webChattr is your own real-time chat room, anywhere and any time you need one. Key Features: 1) No server resources are used on your server 2) It's Free :) 3) It displays members' avatars, linked to their profile 4) No software to install 5) Works great in just about any desktop web browser 6) Access live chat rooms from your iPhone or iPod Touch. 7) Make up a simple Web Address to create a room, like... http://webchattr.com/go/your_own_room_name_here 8) Participate in up to 5 chat rooms at the same time More information on webChattr can be found here: http://webchattr.com And now webChattr can be integrated with vBulletin with this module :) To install this module, please follow the instructions provided in the README.txt file. I have tested this mod in vB 3.5.0, 3.6.5, 3.7.1 and 3.7.2 Note: This module is available only to the users who are logged into your forum. If a user is not logged in, the Chat link would take him to the login page. Any feedback/suggestions/bugs are more than welcome. |
This is pretty cool for a simple basic chat. Would be nice if they allowed registration on their site for a version with moderation capabilities. But for a quick and easy chatroom... very cool. Thanks man :).
Not gonna install this just yet... deciding if I want a chatroom or not on my forums ;). |
Thanks:) I'm glad that you liked it.

One thing I do like is how it works with an iPhone/Touch. I installed an iPhone skin, so if I do use this.. I'll have to add a link to it somewhere on my forumhome for that style. Definitely handy then heh.

That's what I love about webChattr. It works like a charm on my iPhone. I make more out of the data plan and use less TXT messages :D
|
Okay, I installed but the 'chat' button doesn't take me anywhere. Did I miss something?
|
Thanks!!
|
Obviously it's something that is easy, but I'm missing a step here.
Everything looks fine, but when I click the 'chat' link in my navbar, nothing happens. :( |
Sounds 'top-notch' how can I use it just by phones?
|
Darn, I'd love to use this as a chat room feature on my site, but it's not going anywhere. :(
Just wondering....can anyone outside of our registered members find this room on a list of 'available' or 'custom' rooms somewhere? I wouldn't want a backdoor into my site, you know. |
