Forums keep showing as unread?

One of my users is stating that the forums keep showing as unread. Here is what he told me:

"Yeah, it is still doing it. I have been using the Mark Forums Read to get by.

Here is what is happening.

I navigate through the Forum, through the Sub-Forum to the thread and read the thread. then go back to the forum main page. The Forum still shows a new post so I go into it again. The Sub-Forum still shows a new post. When I go into the Sub-Forum, All threads show read.

I go back to the Zoo Main page. Now the Forum is still showing as having new posts. I go in again, and this time the Sub-forum is now showing No new posts. Again going back to the Zoo main page. When I look at the Forum it is now showing no new posts.

simply put. when the last new post is read, the parent folders do not seem to be getting set back. If that makes sense."

How do I go about fixing this? Please help.

I am lost. What do you mean by marking system? Sorry for the confusion.

In the Admin CP, you can choose what type of forum marking system to use.

Alright, I switched it over. However, they are saying they're still having the same problem.
