Not sure how i can go about this? I need to somehow set an 18 age limit on my forum. Can i modify the coppa to be 18 instead of 13? How else can i do this?

you can change the phrases into you language manager ... just find the phrase that you need then modify the words ... this is one way ... i don't know if there are others :)

Modifying the phrase won't stop people from under 18 signing up...

Must admit I've wondered why this feature isn't in place before. Especially as some people run adult boards and could get in trouble if they don't have a proper age verification system.

How can i modify the place where it looks for the age? I'll need to change that from 13 to 18 as well?

You will need a html editor in order to complete the edits you need to make to make your forums 18 and over.

Open your register.php file and find all the indications of the number '13' in it and change it to '18' or '21' if desired. Save register.php and upload it again to your forums.

Be sure to backup your register.php file before making any edits to it.

Make sure that you have the coppa registration enabled in your vb options panel or else this will not work.
