Instant Notification for New Posts in a Thread
 

I have a user who would like to subscribe to a forum and receive an email each time a new post is created in that forum. The functionality exists at thread level. I've had a search for mods but haven't found anything. Does anyone have any ideas?

When viewing forum, click "Forum Tools", then click "Subscribe to This Forum".

Thanks for the reply. However, when we do this we are only offered daily or weekly update, not instant. Is this an option that can be turned on?

I think there's a setting somewhere to allow the moderator of a forum to get notices for each post, so you can make them a forum moderator. Just water down their privs if needed.

Im not sure I'd risk this on a busy shared hosting forum, as most shared hosting nowadays limits outgoing email.
