Using Profile Tabs Elsewhere
 

Hi Everyone,

I'm a big fan of the Profile Tabs used in the vBulletin 3.7 User Profiles system. I wanted to use the same tools (javascript libraries, ajax, etc.) that generate the tabs to basically present some other (mostly static) content on my site in a similar tabbed fashion. Since vBulletin includes the tabbed libraries when calling up a profile, I presume that this should be a relatively easy feat to accomplish. That said, I'm not really sure where to begin.

How would you recommend going about creating tabs and tabbed content the same way that vBulletin does in its User Profiles?

I was surprised when I found out that vBulletin uses YUI for certain parts, but wrote their own tabView. I use TabView for several things (and will use it more in the future) and it is really close. You have the ability to skin it too.

Where can I learn more about using vBulletin's tabview?

I would suggest that you look at how vBulletin implements it, and replicate it. Play around with it to get a feel of how it works.
