Signiture Question
 

I have already made several posts on my forum before I added a signiture (that appears on the bottom of each post).

Is there a way to make this signiture automatically appear on all my old posts/replies... or will it only appear on new threads/replies?

I guess I could delete all my posts and repost them now that the signiture is activated, however, that's a pain. Does anyone know the answer to this question?

Replace "X" with your userid.

I logged in as the administrator and went to 'Maintenance > Execute SQL Query.'

However, it said that I do not have permission to execute SQL Query...? Any idea what I am doing wrong?

Ultimately, all I want to do is add this phrase to the signiture:
"Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam!"

I don't want to risk messing up the database to accomplish this... can you please explain a little better what I need to do. Your help is much appreciated!

You need to add your user id into config.php, the part with "Users With Query Running Permissions". Clicking "how to run queries" also reveals this ;).

Ok, I added myself as a user and was able to "execute SQL Query" ... I then did the following:

1. went to the 'execute SQL Query"

2. Entered this information in the "Manual Query":
UPDATE post
SET showsignature = 1
WHERE userid = 27

3. Recieved the following error message:

An error occurred while attempting to execute your query. The following information was returned.
error number: 1146
error desc: Table 'true350_buddy.post' doesn't exist

What is a table prefix? How do I find this information? Where do I add it once I find it?

Here's what I understand so far:

1. Go to the "Execute SQL Query "

2. under the manual query, enter this:

UPDATE post
SET showsignature = 1
WHERE userid = 27

Within your config file, you set the following PHP variable to something:

$config['Database']['tableprefix']

Whatever is found within the '' needs to be placed in front of post within the query. There should be no spaces.

So if you had bb_ within the quotes you would change post to bb_post.
