Disabling mod_security question
What are the drawbacks, if any, of disabling mod_security for a domain? I disabled it as it was showing an ajax problem in the diagnostics, but I'm curious as to if that is wise or not. According to an article I found on the net (The Internet... I'm sure you have all heard of that by now), it recommended disabling it as it can cause some web site problems. Anyone have any opinions or insight on this?

If you are only running vBulletin, then mod_security is not really needed. Also mod_security uses rule-sets, so if it is usefull (and will not break anything) will depend on the ruleset you are using.

I have no idea what ruleset it is using. What is it mainly used for?
