Vbull pages output XML
I have an idea about recreating a site i own to be loaded in a flash "client". Basicly I would like to know if anyone has had experence with making pages export xml so i can display it in Flash (or anything else that supports XML).
A quick example would be the forum homepage, or viewing a list of threds, posts, etc. I haven't worked too much with editing vbull but I do have past experence in php, flash, vb, java, and a few other smaller ones. I think I will have to copy and edit the php files special to export the XML version of the site, but if there is a better methiod, please tell me. ~Cmd19872002 Edit: Oh ya almost forgot, I'm running vbull v3.6.7, but I can update if I must. |
You'll be extensively modifying vBulletin files to do this.

Thanks, sounds like a lot of work, but I think the payoff of a very interactive forum would be worth it :). I was reading a little bit about rss feeds, and that sounds to be close to what I would like but never worked with rss before. Anyone know if a rss feed would be anything close to what I'm trying todo?
Thanks, Cmd Update: Looks like the easyest way todo this is to add a style and edit it to output what you need, in my case XML. Just a reference for anyone wanting to attempt something like me :P. |
