Stickies also show up as regular threads

sometimes my users don't look at the stickies, they instinctively scroll right pass them. I'd like the stickies to still show up as regular threads so they'd be stuck at the top and also down in the regular mix based on the last reply date like all other threads.

every way i look at making this happen looks like it won't work. if anyone has any ideas, I'd appreciate the help

FYI, I'm on 3.71

I'd recommend using some styling that will make them stand out, because the only other way is to use Prefixes if you'd like them to appear as regular threads, but then you'd have to modify the newthread/editthread templates to disallow use of the prefixes to regular members so they cant also make threads with the "STICKY" prefix... it's easier to simply make stickies more vibrant and attractive, or force people to read them before they post.

well, I've grouped the stickies with the announcements and have them all on 1 line in a scroller. it takes up very little space and they are very noticeable BUT now they don't look like threads. they just look like a news scroller. if I could have the stickies also show up as threads which are sorted by last reply date as all threads are I'd have my scroller & my threads. I've played with it but it just doesn't work right.

I'm still struggling with this. any help even if it's just pointing me in the right direction would be appreciated.

thanks parash but they don't help. :(

already have them separated. that can be done via a template edit. this is more. I may have to take a whole different approach to it.

Go into vB phrases and find sticky and just remove it, leaving no prefix whatsoever and it'll still remain on the top.

thanks but I want it up top as a sticky & I want it as a normal thread. the normal thread should be sorted by last reply like all the rest. I have an idea. gonna try it this weekend

There is a mod out there to separate announcements & stickies from regular threads. Do a search and you should find it.
