Database backup

Hello everyone,

While installing many MOD's i came up a statement - " Backup Database "

Now consider me a newbie, and please suggest me how should i take a backup of my database.I saw the documentation at the vb but i am not able to understand that :(

Can anyone tell me a simple way to backup and restore the database ??

The only reliable method of backing up and restoring a database is with shell access via telnet or ssh. This is because backing up with a PHP script like that in the Admin CP or phpMyAdmin can result in PHP timeouts errors and an incomplete backup file. Please see the instructions here:
