The best way to get rid of an annoying person
 

Ok we all hate it when a annoying person uses a proxy and re-registers to our sites. I know because I had the same problem. There is ways of taking care of this.

You can be mean and call your local police department and report him for abusing a proxy and harrasement. Or you can follow my directions below.

Phase 1
Ok first thing you must do is go to

vBuletin Options > Human Verification options

Here you need to make sure that everythigns marked yes. Then proceed to the next phase.

Phase 2

vBuletin Options > User Registration Options

Check yes at

Verify Email address in Registration
and
Require Unique Email Addresses

Phase 3

Now under vBulletin Options select Human Verification Manager

Image Verification
Check everything in Image Verification Options

Phase 4
Install the following mods
Multiple Account Registration Prevention
DNSBL/Open Proxy-Blocking

Phase 5 (Optional)
Ok now Create a new usergroup, make it so new users automatically be sent t othat group, then make it so they will be promoted to Registered users in 1 day (24 hours)
Make the new default usergroup only have access to the welcoem board and thats it! That way if the person that registeres has to wait before he has acess to the entiore forum.

Phase 6
Ok now your set, heres what you do. Every time that user registers on a proxy, if the proxy placker hasnt already prevented him from getting in then ban his username, email, and current IP. Then he has to recreate a new email and register with that. The proxy blocker has a IP revealer in it use it! Also the prevent multiple accoutns will check the registerd IP and yoyu need all the thigns in it checked, so it wil auto ban the users new account if it detects it to be a duplicate account

eventually this person will be sick an tired of creatign a new email, findign a betetr proxy, waiting 1 day to have full access again!

Ivbe doen this it works like a charm, Phase 5 is completley optional, you dont need it unless you want it.

Again this works great. Now if the person c0ontinues and it doesnt seem its stopping him, well what you could do is call your local police department becuase hes abusing a proxy which breaks the code of conduct on proxy use. also hes technically harrassing you.

Miserable Users
Token of Death (cookie ban) but to make it that move user to miserable group
Proxy IP to real IP conversion

Phase 5 eventually did it for me, with about 5 posts to get promoted and no post count unless the posts get approved. Haven't had trolls or spammers since, because they can get banned before they post anything. Then again, the question and answer stuff permanently booted out the spammers/bots, so this has only had real good use against human trolls/bullies.
