How to get and show additional info in polls?
Hello all,
First off, I want to thank the members of this forum for being generous and forthcoming with their help. Secondly, could anyone help me with the following? When a user votes in a poll, I'd like to get his/her gender, which in my vB is $bbuserinfo[field5] (could also be stored otherwise - I don't know), and record it together with his/her vote in the database. Then, when I display poll results, I'd like to tell the readers how many women and how many men voted for each answer. How to do this? I assume that recording and outputting additional info is the same process for any info - that is, if I learn to do it with gender, I can do it the same way with, say, the person's country. Thank you, R. |
Well, if the user id is stored with the vote then it is merely a case of fetching the value of field5 from the database when the username e.t.c. of those that have voted are also fetched.

Sounds quick and painless... how do I actually do this?
