I like the way, the search is positioned and arranged here within vbulletin.org.
Also with the possibility to directly chose "all posts" and "titles only" is great.
Anybody knows how this was done?

It's just putting the search input fields into the navbar.

It's a lot code around those search templates.
Can you help me, posting the relevant part of it?

Look at the boxes specifically. It should be easy to isolate those areas.
