vb.org is NOT ccompatible with IE8
 

just got IE8 @ http://www.microsoft.com/windows/pro...8/default.mspx and having it enabled throws this sites style off. you can emulate between IE7 and IE8 which is cool, but having IE8 enabled this style is shifted, and mods have text in places it shouldnt.

so if you download IE8 beta, and you see stuff messed up, don't be scared, just Emulate back to IE7 and restart the browser and you will see everything ok.

This because there is code put in place to fix previous versions of IE's rendering errors. I believe there is code you can place to force IE to emulate IE7.

I have been running the beta 8 for a while now and that was the first thing I did after viewing my own site. It isn't just the org. The IE7 emulation code was added to 3.7, by the way.

ya i just found out some things on it. inside admincp on vb 3.7, under the Cookies and HTTP Header Options options there is a option to set to yes to render IE7 on a force i guess, if your using IE8.

but the admincp in 3.7 is not looking right with IE8 enabled...

is there no option on 3.6.10 to enable this IE8 to look right? if there is, the admin here might wanna enable it for us IE8 Beta users

IE8 sounds like a pain :P

Turn IE7 emulation mode on in the browser itself.



And IE8 really isn't a pain, its BETA software so why any one would expect anything more then what it delivers is beyond me.

it actually runs slightly faster then ie7. but its very slight. i can tell the difference because my lappy is 00b3r l33t....

anywho, i am beta testing the browser the right way, so i dont want to have the ie7 emulator always on. i know what the world wide web looks like on ie7, time to see if whats new in ie8 :)

With the standards the way they are now, I don't think any vb site is going to look right in IE8 yet. Templates are going to have to be redone among other things.

yeah expecting more than what is delivered should be beyond you
