Force new members to an introduction forum/thread

We're trying to figure out a way to herd new registrants to our Introduction forum. They would be unable to post to any threads until they've introduced themselves. Can't seem to find a single or combination of v 3.7 mods to achieve this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

There isn't one.

You need to manually create a usergroup restrict all of there permissions except viewing the Introductions Forum and being able to Post New Threads In It.

Do a Promotion to the normal usergroup after 1 post, and then after they have made there thread they will be able to see the rest of the forum and interact with it like normal members.

Might not be so good for indexing of sites though if you turn everything off to spiders. So recommended that you allow guests to see everything still. Just put a note under the Intro forums description saying "YOU HAVE TO POST AN INTRO THREAD HERE BEFORE POSTING ELSEWHERE".

Sounds good. Let me try that on for size.

That forces users to read a thread, not to force them to post an introduction thread.

I'll try what legionofangels has suggested. However, if you have a lead on a hack, that would also be great!
