Glossy buttons/banners, Glass-like design/buttons and banners.

I know how to do a little bit of photoshop, but I'm not good at making buttons, gradients, glossy and glass banners. Let alone doing curved boxes/background transparency.

Is there a tutorial you guys use these days?

I've never had to use tutorials but I always find myself referring people to this site which goes into detail on how to use the tools in photoshop rather than following some tutorial you'll forget and learn nothing from.

Fluent yourself with the tools in PS and you get to create projects using your own method rather than following somebody elses.

Just to letcha know, I'm using CS3 family.

But THANKS for the site. :)

Shelley, do you mean a particular article on that site or all of their tutorials? You are right about "forget and learn nothing from". All functions, effects I remember are the ones I discovered on my own. But trial and error is a bad way to learn photoshop. Therefore I am looking for something to teach me the basics.

All of the tutorials. Obviously, start with the basics... Layers, masking, paths etc and you'll find that atleast your actually learning the tools and basic functions rather than a specific tutorial to create one thing when learning the tools allows to create anything you wish. TBH, I learned from purely experimenting and alot of trial and error with a little cursing.

Persevere a little and you'll soon find that the learning curve with regards to photoshop is actually easier than you think.
