After phpBB2 import, users can't login

I am having trouble with users being unable to login to the forum after my upgrade. I would say 80% can get in.

The weird thing is that when I reset their password and enter their account myself, it works. But when they try it fails.

What can I do?

Have they used the "Forgotten your password?" form to reset their password?
