Is there a way to change the date a thread or post was made?

You didn't say what version you are running. This hack works for up to 3.6.4. Take a look at the thread and see if someone gave moderation instructions for making it work for other versions: https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=132291
(actually, taking a quick look, it looks like some say it does work on 3.7, but if I were you, I'd read the whole thread.)

Well, like I said, read the thread cuz it seems it works for many users that have versions higher than 3.6.4. There may be some edits you need to do that are posted in the thread.
