Need of Password Reminder!! Please!

Hi everybody!

I recently (since 12/2007) imported to vb my smf forum... and of course many users lost their password, and some of them (through the email>lost password procedure) re-logged to the forum..but..the majority of the users DID NOT come back.
I learned recently (by reading in this forum) that impex adds something like ..salt, in the passwords, and so maybe there is a password of these members not acknowledged by them.

So, is there a way that it will be mass emailed to them that password, something like a password reminder, not a password reseter???

Any help or answer will be appreciated.:)

No, passwords were probably not copied over during the Impex conversion and if they were they would have undergone one-way encryption. There is no way to mail the users their password in plain text. (At least from a vBulletin installation)

Passwords cannot be retrieved. They must be reset to be in use with vBulletin's encryption method. Inside of the ACP, you can do a mass e-mail by doing this: ACP -> Users -> Mass E-mail Members. Remind them to reset their password and link them to the lost password page.

Thank you all for your answers!

I have already done this and the "comeback" percentage was 2%.
The basic reason for this is the complexity of that procedure, as seen in many replies I had from members thath couldnot complete this.!!

So if there is no solution, maybe it would be helpful a "password generator" for members that either lost their passwords, or forgot, or were reset at any reason (including impex)!!!

That's what the Lost Password page is for...
