Usergroup "Display group" = Primary group

When adding users to new groups, for example when someone applies to join my clan and i accept, i wish to make their default group "AOUV". But also wish them to have a secondary group of Registered users.

Basically, it is a pain as i open up the user manager on that user, then set their primary group, then secondary group(s). I click save, but then must go back into it to select which one is their "Display group".

How do I make it so that the Display group is just the primary group, automatically?

If no display group has been set, it should automatically select the primary group.

It doesnt. It chooses the registered users. Always.

Have you tried waiting a day to see if one of the cleaner cron jobs comes along and fixes it? Marco is right in that if you don't select to have the secondary usergroup your display group, then it should default to the primary group. But, I wonder if when you change user properties as you did if it gets done in one of the cleaner scripts either once an hour or once a day.

A Scheduled Task (sorry, cron is a more generic term, vbulletin calls them Scheduled Tasks). There are two cleaners that go through and do things. One goes once a day and one goes once an hour. One of those may do something to the display group.

edit: I just looked at the cleanup scripts and neither has anything to do with the display group. Sorry. the promotion job does do something with the displaygroupids, but I'm not sure this would do anything for you since you aren't using promotions to change the groupid.

It does now seem to be working as quoted.
