Save the internet?

What do you guys (and girls) think of this? http://savetheinternet.com/=faq

Could you see if ISP's had the power to except your site and cut you off at their own will??

So it doesn't surprise me if they are trying to regulate it. Big companies get greedier and more powerful by the minute to the point were they are pretty much controlling the government, CRAPPY sad thing!

Do you think it will happen eventually in one way or another?Seems like it could be a VERY bad thing for us site owners!!:erm:

Also...

I heard that there is legislation here in the us that someone is trying to get passed that gets rid of anonymous posting. Just for that state I believe. I'd have to find a press release on it.

There is no anonymity on the internet anyway

Yeah but from what I perceive, what that first site says is that isp's will eventually rule the www. and they will tell you your site is no good and there for can not exist. At least not on their www. try www2 or www3. And, they will be able to block you from anyone on their network. Destroying your reach. So if you're trying to run a controversial site (and no I'm not just talking pron here) you will we shut out and your internet freedom of speech will be gone.

Not sure if thats a long shot (thats why I made this post) or if its something that might come to pass.

I don't see it happening in the long run as the big companies would strangle the Internet in doing it their way. Google, Microsoft as well as others would get involved and even AT&T isn't equipped to go up against them. This debate has been going on for a while and I see it going on even longer before they get tired of not getting what they want.

YEah.. LOL some rebel will create a "free" internet. LOL and those who want to be drones and leach to mainstream can subscribe to the "normal people" internet. haha

Gosh... what ever would happen to social networking LOL.

Well, with sites such as "youtube", the Internet is quickly running out of capacity.

Have you ever been on a site, then you try to refresh and it just endlessly tries to load the site, but won't? Well, it may be because of these "Black Holes". Read here.

However, the internet is not going to last forever.....
