Forum URL

Edit: Changing to explain better

In admin cp - Vbulletin Options - Site Name/ URL / Contact details.

In Forum Url - It says "Note: do not add a trailing slash. ('/')"

When I add my forum url without the "http://"

The pages from certain things like, top posters makes the url double up and goes to an error page
with the url of the forum and then /url of forum AGAIN. This happens when clicking threads that have show the latest post from a mod such as Latest post.
*go to thread, click then error page because of forum url doubling up*

If I add to the forum url http:// then the forum url where the part it says DO NOT add
"trailing slash /". All the forum then works fine.

How can I make it so I just add my forum url WITHOUT "http://" and make the forum work when clicking links from other mods?

Make sure that you have the http:// in front of your URL.

It still happens, updated first post.

I think I know what is going on here

Lets assume you site is:

http://www.internet101.com/

What you need to add in the box is:

http://www.internet101.com

Not:

http://www.internet101.com/
www.internet101.com/
internet101.com/
http:www.internet101.com

So I add this "http:// my forum url

In the Forum Url box where It says
"Note: do not add a trailing slash. ('/')"

What is the URL to your forum and EXACTLY what are you putting in the box?

By trailing slash it means the last slash. Lets say your forum homepage is:

http://www.myforum.com/forums/index.php

You would enter the following into the box:

http://www.myforum.com/forums

I think that's what he's thinking as well. He doesn't understand what trailing means.

By trailing slash, they mean the slash at the end of the URL. Not all the slashes in the URL. Just the closing slash. "Trailing" means "to follow behind", like a Trailer on a semi-truck.

First of all THANKS everyone but I really understood it 100% after Mreyes post but just wanted to know IF "//" was allowed at the front of the url and someone has answered that so thanks.

Sorry just had a weak moment for me and got confused with the beginning anyways thanks.
