Featured Section above Forums

Hey guys.
I am wondering how to do the following:

On this site:

http://www.salespractice.com/forums/

It has featured sales trainers on the right and advertisements on the left. i am wondering how do you do something like that for my site.

Also the featured sales trainer changes aswell every time you load it.

Does anyone know.
