How To Change Template Image

Hi,

Ok I wanna know how to code this properly.

For instance, lets just take for example the IP image in the postbit.

If I want to change that to one I made, rather than just uploading and overwritting the image I want to put the new image in another custom folder, so I would need to change the URL of the image, but when I look in the coding for the right bits rather than saying like "http://www.gfdgdfgdf.com/image/gif.png" it says {stuff}.

How do I go about changing this?

I want to keep it clean looking so I need to know this?

My friend that helps on the forum has done it loads of times but I cant gt a hold of him lately and ive got important images to upload.

Thanks,

Rowan

Why would you want to use a different directory?

ScottRowan 04-04-2008 12:02 PM

Because im styling my own skin....

Ok sorry for making the first post sounds stupid lol.. Heres for example one of the things I want to do:

http://www.sig-nature.org/forum/imag...thread_dot.gif

That image there, I want to change to a custom one I made, but rather than just uploading a new "thread_dot.gif" into its current directory I have alot of custom icons in another folder in PNG format.

So how would I go about changing it to the other directory to show the other images?

In the drop-down next to the style name, click "Edit Settings".

In the drop-down for the style, select Style Vars. Image Paths are on the bottom.

Thanks Lynne that helped...

And also im I right in saying me going into Replacement Variable Manager then doing like:

Search For Text: thread.gif
Replace With: /sn/thread.gif

That seems to be working but is that the correct method?

No, you go into the StyleVars, and you can change the image paths...
