Forum going VERY slow

Alright starting last week my website has been going VERY slow off and on, some times it takes 2-3 min to post something..

I called godaddy and they are blaming it on my database.

I have almost everything that takes server load disabled..

What can be going on?

I didn't have to read anything past "I called godaddy..."

Thats your problem right there, Find a new host its in your best interest.

What is good and cheap?

Please read the announcement about this forum. It is not for hosting discussions. Thanks.

Tell me a little about the server that your forum is running on... is it a dedicated server ... vps... or shared hosting? If you have root access to the server I might be able to help you optimize your database. If not it's in the hands of your host.

Yes I have shared hosting :(

You may want to consider going semi dedicated or dedicated. Large forums don't go well with shared hosting. Maybe your host can either move your account to a server with less load, or optimize the database. I'm sorry you're having trouble. I wish I could help you more.

How can I optimize the database?

I made sure anything with performance is turned off in the VB settings.

I hit that optimize button in the Maintenance tab.

The hosting company is blaming my database, is this possible ?

I mean 1 min it is fine and the next it can take 2 min just to get to the page

If you are not satisfied with them and are having this problem then it in your best interest to switch to another host. Hosting is one of the most important thing in running a website/forum/blog and if you skimp on that, you won’t become successful.

Server Load Averages 1.09 1.31 1.39 | 15 Users Online (8 members and 7 guests)

that isn't bad, is it?
