Server Loads

Hi

I was looking in my vbulletin admin control panel and it shows the server load as

Server Load Averages 2.63 2.93 3.22 | 1 Users Online (1 members and 0 guests)

I googled this and it appears quite high, especially as theres only me on the site, Now I've got shared server hosting. Are these reading from the full server taking every one esles use into account that are hosted on that server. Or is it just my use.

Are these something I'd need to be worried about.

THanks

Well, that system cannot fully read into a shared server (so I was told by my host). I think it's mainly for dedicated servers. But, how is your site running? If your concerned, contact your host.

If those were server loads for just your site with one user on it, then I would be concerned. However, since you are on a shared server, those loads are going to include other sites on the server. I'm not sure how accurate they are for the whole server, as Jason pointed out, but I do know they are not for ONLY your site.

As Jason also asked, how is your site running? If it's running fine, I wouldn't worry about those numbers.

HI

Thanks for your reply, I've just cheack again and its giving a reading of:

Server Load Averages 4.25 4.17 4.74 | 5 Users Online (2 members and 3 guests)

The site seems to be running fine apart from since I've upgrade to 3.6.9 I seem to be getting messages saying the the server has refused to show the page when trying visting different parts of the site.

Which Control Panel? The vB admin control panel? What is the exact error message? What browser and version are you using?

I've had it when logging into the VB control panel and when making a post as well.

I'm using IE 7

Thanks

What is the exact error message? Screenshot if possible.

hi well my site seems to have gone down completly now, but other sites on the same server are still working.

The error message was the standard IE message saying the server had refused to show the webpage.

I suggest you contact your host, since I don't know what's happening here.
