PM problem

Hi

i have a problem with my newly setup board

i have enabled Private messaging but cannot see how to send them. On other forums i click the members name and a dropdown menu has 'send pm to this user' option. Also I can view the users profile as and click send pm. How do i do this on my forum?

They are default features. Have you set up your permissions properly?

permissions to pm? where do i find that? I only thought there were the
usergroups-> permissions
then access to different sections permissions

Usergroups > Usergroup Manager > select the usergroup to Edit and then there is a Private Message Options area.

it has the following options.....

Maximum Stored Messages:
Can Ignore Quota
Can Use Message Tracking
Can Deny Private Message Read Receipt Request
Maximum Recipients to Send PMs at a time:

none of those are to do with allowing the usergroup to use pm
im on 3.6.8 by the way

sorry im new to this

If you have Maximum Stored Messages set to 0, then they can't send messages.

If you set this to 0 users from this usergroup will not be able to use private messaging.
