HELP? WHAT does this mean??
Hi folks,
one of my users has started appearing in the "users online" list at the footer of my forum with an asterisk (*) after their username, can anyone tell me what this represents please? thanks! |
They have set themselves to invisible mode. They have an asterisk after their name to signify this. Only staff (or those with correct permissions) can see them in the users online.
|
It means they have chosen to not show on the online list (Invisible).
|
Correct, only admins or mods by default can see users set to invisible, you can also set usergroups to be allowed to view ppl set to invisible.
To a registered user, that person is not viewable as being online. Others will know there are more ppl online though as the counters will still show more ppl than they can see in the list. |
AHHHHH phew, I was worried it was something sinister :D
ok then, thanks for letting me know! |
ur welcome
|
what does it mean when a usergroup in the custom usergroup area of usergroup manager has an asterisck?
