Modifying thread content
 
I'm interesting in modifying new threads by altering the thread content via a PHP function.
What is the best approach for implementing something of this nature?

What do you mean by thread content? The posts in the thread? All the posts? You'll need to add a plugin to a hook on the showthread.php page most likely.

Sorry for the confusion, I was referring to the content of the first main post in a thread.

Is it difficult to show the original version of the post in the edit box, but an altered version of the post to the thread viewer?
