Users can view user cp and forum index when banned

Hi there,

For some strange reason, users in the "banned" usergroup can see the usercp main page and the forum index, and not the banned group.

On the forum index, the only thing they can see is the "what's going on" box, as well as the box that says " Mark Forums Read View Staff List".

In the usercp, they can see the main page, read PMs, edit all their PM options, use their buddy list, etc. They can also view showgroups.php, the who's online, etc. , even though it is set to "no" in the usergroup permissions.

They should be seeing:

Yet they're not, just on these pages.. any idea why? I've searched and searched and can't find an answer. All of the permissions are set to "no" (except "is banned usergroup") yet it's not showing the banned page properly..

By the way: This isn't a recent thing.. it's been happening for as long as I can remember...

Try disabling your modifications.

Do you allow the Banned usergroup to get permissions from Secondary groups? And are these banned users also members of Secondary groups?

I've disabled the plugin/hooks system and everything works fine. Then, I turned them back on and then disabled my products one by one but it didn't work.

I've tried it in both users with secondary groups and users with no secondary groups and there doesn't seem to be any difference.

So, using the global method to disable all the products (in vboptions) fixes the problem? Did turning off all your products through the Product system fix the problem (turning them all off in Products, but leaving the Plugin System On).

perhaps I missed one when turning them off
