Go with 3.6.8 or wait?

I'm debating whether or not to start a new forum up now with 3.6.8 or if I should simply just wait for 3.7 to go GOLD...

I haven't heard much about when 3.7 is going to go GOLD so it could be a really long or short time....

What does everyone think I should do?

Thanks.

Set up a test board and see how you like the new features on the RC1; when gold comes out update your regular board...

If you want to start a board now, you can always go with RC1 and just regularly update your board until gold. Or you could go with 3.6.8 and not do much modifications until 3.7 comes around.

I'm loving RC1 personally, so my vote is to go for it. ;)

vb.org does`nt even use 3.7 so that should tell you something. If u go for the rc version then be prepared to have to keep on updating it and fixes bugs which they may find.

It is not used here because it is still considered pre-release software. No matter how stable it is, pre release software will not be installed on vBulletin.org. Jelsoft also says that pre release software shouldn't be used in live production.

which is a good reason and my motto is if its not good enough for vb then its not good enough for me :)

They're running RC1 at vbulletin.com. The main reason they haven't upgraded here, I believe, is because of all the customizations to this site. I'm sure they want to put off redoing those as long as possible.

I started developing the site in my sig with 3.7 beta 5. I went live with it with beta 6, and upgraded to RC1 yesterday. Not a single problem have I encountered. If you're starting a new board from scratch, you'd be best served by going with 3.7, in my opinion, especially if you plan on doing a lot of template modifications. It will save you some work down the road.
