Wait for activation [Not activation-mail]

Hi!
I want a hack that let my new users wait exactly 3 days before they can post threads or replies. But i cant find that kind of mod.

Please, if you find this mod, let me know.

You don't need a mod. What you want to do is copy the Registered group and call the new usergroup something like "Registered and Can Post". Give the new group all the same forum and usegroup permissions that you currently have given your Registered group. Then, create a Promotion to move the users from the Registered group to the Registered and Can Post group after 3 days. Run the Promotions Scheduled Task and it should move a bunch of users into the new group. Now that you have the new group 'filled', you can go back to the Registered group and remove their permissions to post threads and replies.

It sounds hard.
Should i manually do this to all my new members, set them in the new group?

It sounds worse that it is to be honest.

You could always moderate users manually and activate them 3 days after registration? Although that does mean you would need to do this yourself.

Thats just another option if you didnt want to do the route above

The user promotion that Lynne suggested is much more easier, and isn't very hard at all. Follow his instructions above and you should be fine ;)

Regards Jason :)

Glad you did. Sorry it sounded complicated as it really isn't as bad as it sounded.

Use: AdminCP > Users > Move / Prune Users, to move large amounts of Users.

(For anyone else that needs its)
