Rate and Review
 

Does anyone know if there is an add-on module of some sort that would allow forum Members to rate something ( a restaurant, for example) and post a review about it?

Obviously you can have a discussion thread on a restaurant, but I'm looking for something that just features a rating and review. I would also have a discussion thread about the restaurant, but I'd like to keep the ratings and reviews compact (i.e. without all of the inevitable extraneous discussion).

I've been searching threads and have seen Reviewpost mentioned but there seem to be stability/support issues with this software. I do like the look of it, though. And I see GARS mentioned. Can someone give me some guidance?

We are looking for this too.

I would say, at this time, that GARS looks to be the only real solution for a vbulletin integrated review system. Sadly, I have yet to see any other viable alternative to this day (reviewpost is not really integrated as such). I am quite surprised that nothing has been been developed on this front as vBulletin would be perfect for a reviews site (I'm still holding out!).

While GARS is great, it seems that development is really slow (especially since 'theGeek' was had to sell the business to concentrate on RL :( ). GARS really could use a sprucing up in terms of how users assign the ratings. Currently it is done via drop down menus to assign your desired score. This should really be an AJAX based star selection type of input field to jazz it up a bit. Hopefully we'll see something on this front some day soon. :erm:

I thought you might find this example interesting. I am also looking for a review system that integrates and I found this site http://www.pbnation.com/reviews/ that does have this functionality. Does anyone have an idea of how they did their review?

I asked how PBNation did their review system and it is a customized system.

Did you guys ever decide on a way to integrate a review system into your VB?

I'm in the process of writing one for my new site as I haven't found anything I really like i.e. flexible enough, doesn't integrate with vb or is way too expensive....
