how do i set a user up as a moderator

also users can not edit there avatars?

you can either send them to a specified group with permissions already set so they can moderate. Or you can go to Forums&Moderators===>Forum Manager and then all the way to the right, you will see moderators, click on the drop down tab and then you can add, edit permissions and moderators. and really users should already edit there avatars to a specified size before they upload it to thier profile

you would think but its not giving users the option of uploading custom avatars

then you havent set the right permissions for the users. check the Usergroups tab and then go into each usergroup and check if they are aloud to set custom avatars.

all users user groups have avatar permission

and they still cant uplaod avatars? then check the dimensions and stuff, maybe the dimensions are too small and thats why they cant add anything.
