Software to monitor a raid setup
 
Our current dedicated server has a software raid setup. Does anyone have a recomendation for software to monitor if the raid fails and to send out notifications.

Depending on what RAID software it is, you'll need the specific application that goes with it. You can ask your provider for information on the software raid and you'll probably be able to download the app. The real cheap RAIDs don't have email notifications though.

Its a software raid meaning its controlled by the motherboard and not by a raid card.

Yes, even the software RAIDs require their own software to monitor as there is so much variance in RAID implementations. There isn't a do it all package that will monitor your software RAID.
