Make Threads Post Count Accessable

Hi,

I just made a new forum and ive got a few threads I wanna make only accessable to members who have more than "x" amount of posts.

I dont see anything in the AdminCP about this unless im missing it.

Is there a mod that can do this?

Thanks

Thanks,

I had a look through that and I dont really understand it. The way I see it is that when you get 35 posts thats making you upgrade your rank in a way... I dont want them upgrading. I want them always to be members but then they can only access a certain forum with 35 posts, and another with 50 etc.

Could you help me a bit more please.

You duplicate the "Registered Users" group. They will still look the same, except each one has different permissions to different forums.

Ok,

I made a new usergroup called Registered Users2 and then the promotion to it was 20 posts (equal or greater too) then Primary group. Then I made the forum permissions for the thread deny Registered Users but allow Registered Users2.

I made a fake member with 19 posts tried to access it jst said Private. Then I posted twice to get to 21 and then tried and its still saying Private.

Is there something ive missed?

You need to wait for the Scheduled Task to run, I believe it runs twice every hour.

Ahh, so basically once a member hits the required amount of posts it will take around 30mins to basically add them to the new usergroup.

Its working now I think, but if you just confirm what I said is right all is good.

Also, rather than it just saying PRIVATE and you dont have permission to access this page, is there a way you can add it so it says like "You Need 35 Posts".

It would be less than 30 mins because not many users will hit the required amount of posts just after the task had run. :p

Lol ok thanks for all your help buddy.

I just put :: Requires 20 Posts To Access :: in the forum thread description so that will do for now.

Thanks again m8.
