Display Sub-Forum Links on idex?

This has been driving me crazy. How do I display the sub-forum link on the main index page?
Ive seen it done before on some other forums.

When adding a forum, select a Parent Forum for the sub-forum and go to vB Options -> Forum Listings Display Options and set the depth options. Click the question marks you see in the ACP near the depth options for examples of how the options work.
