Allow thread starter to edit a locked thread?

Hopefully you'll be able to understand what I want to achieve.

Is there any way (by default or use of a mod) to allow someone the edit a thread if it's been locked?

Our forum, like many, has a marketplace section to allow users to advertise their items for sale and one section is specifically for vehicle sales. Historically these threads became full of spam and people were constantly "bumping" their threads to keep them at the top. As a result we're locking each thread once the OP has created his or her advert.

However I'd like the OP to be able to edit the thread/post so they can amend prices or add details/photo's etc..

Is this possible at all?

The easiest way would be to install the hack that automatically closes threads in specific sections.

Code:

Auto Close Threads After 1st Post  - 1.0.0          By Developer
Now go to usergroup manager for the specific usergroups and set them to be able to edit and open/close their own threads:

Cheers for the reply.

They can now open and close their own threads but even though I have "can edit own posts" allowed they cannot edit their posts after some time has elapsed.

Am I overlooking another obvious setting?

Go to Vbulliten Options>Message Posting and Editing Options
And scroll down and set "Time Limit on Editing of Thread Title" to 0 to be unlimited

Thanks again mate.

I knew I'd forgotten about something obvious but I would have been scratching my head all week if it wasn't for your help :)
