honestly I have confirmation from big, legitimate vb sites going into my spam box and confirmation emails from tiny vb sites going into my inbox.

that's too bad or may be its just hosting server setting for sending mail

You need the mail.log / mail_log depending the the servers OS, that is the only way to find out exactly why the email server it is sent to is putting them in the users junk/spam folder, there are numerous reasons this can happen, probably the most notorious one is the domain that the email originates from, sample:
forums@server.yoursite.com As the server. part is in the email, its not a correctly formatted email from address. Make sure your host has setup a valid PRT record for your IP as well. There are to many reasons to list here. Get the email log from the server and start checking the hosts that are marking your emails as spam, there are numerous ways to resolve this depending on your host and if this is a dedicated server, you may have to resort to using the smtp feature built into vbulletin to use a real outgoing valid email account. |
where i will get mail.log file ?
|
From the server itself, typically in /var/log on a linux server, if this isnt a dedicated server or a vps, i doubt your host will give it to you anyways.

this is the HEADER of the confirmation mail of the Vbulletin forums, and the mail is NOT sent to JUNK/SPAM
folder in Yahoo and hotmail: Received-SPF: pass (google.com: domain of webmaster@vbulletin.org designates 209.62.16.134 as permitted sender) client-ip=209.62.16.134; Authentication-Results: mx.google.com; spf=pass (google.com: domain of webmaster@vbulletin.org designates 209.62.16.134 as permitted sender) smtp.mail=webmaster@vbulletin.org This is header info of my forums, where the mail is sent to JUNK/SPAM of yahoo and hotmail: Received-SPF: neutral (google.com: 66.90.101.244 is neither permitted nor denied by domain of zahidonly_4u@yahoo.com) client-ip=66.90.101.244; Authentication-Results: mx.google.com; spf=neutral (google.com: 66.90.101.244 is neither permitted nor denied by domain of zahidonly_4u@yahoo.com) smtp.mail=zahidonly_4u@yahoo.com So can anyone tell how to fix this, so that my FORUMS do not send the mail to JUNK/SPAM of yahoo and hotmail ? |
Dont use a yahoo email in your admincp, the email should be set to one of your domain name.
