Request: Change social group ownership / leave social group as owner.
 

Per this thread on vb.com. If you create a social group, you cannot leave it or change the ownership. The only way to get out of it is to delete it.

My site's rather busy, and while 99% of my memberbase plays nice, there are always a handful of members that would find it hilarious to create groups with less than appropriate names, or groups that are short-lived inside jokes amongst the regulars.

To get around this, I only allow mods and myself to create social groups. The downside is that I am now a part of the New England, California, UK, Australia, Lefty, Righty, Male, Female, Short, Tall, Plump, Skinny group of people who likes and does not like pie on my site.

This is a mild exaggeration, but you get the idea. I don't want to be in every group I create, and I dont' want to leave it open to the members while at the same time getting proper groups in place to keep things fun.

I'm sure I'm not the only one who would really appreciate a mod like this.

I would be interested in something like this also. I have a member who already asked about changing ownership of the group.

A merge social groups function would be nice too.
