Visual notifier

Hi

Im looking for a hack to ad a visual notifier for pm, friend request and visitor messages. In other social websites they often have images (animated or colored) in the right corner of the navbar that changes.

Anyone seen a mod / hack like this?

there's a few modifications that does this .. do a search on private messages
