BUG: Strange AdminCP Game 'Optional info' bug
 

This is happening with version 2.6.5

On the game information page in AdminCP, 'Optional Info'

In any of the 3 fields, Game description, Game objective, or Game keys, when I enter the word 'idea' and save the changes, the word 'idea' is replaced with 'useridea'. This happens over and over and is quite repeatable. It doesn't matter which game.

Is this an Ibproarcade bug or a vBulletin bug. I'm running vBulletin 3.6.4

1) you should upgrade to your ibProArcade and your vBulletin
2) this is caused by ibProArcade, but should not happen at all, really wondering... will have to try this

Eventually, I'll upgrade the vBulletin. It's just that I dread having to revert all the template edits I have in place and do them all over. The latest version of vBulletin still does not give me any compelling reason to upgrade.

My installation of Ibproarcade is working just fine, aside from a few scoring bugs, I'm happy with it. I don't usually like to fix something that isn't broke.

The 'Idea' bug is a little strange, but nothing serious.

I now tested this in the current version v2.6.6+ and the bug does not appear.

What is the exact text you used and which got changed ?

I now used "idea identity test" and everything was saved fine

Strange. When I entered 'idea identity test", after saving it was changed to idea useridentity test"

It looks like 'id' is changed to 'userid'. If I enter the string "id id" and save, 'id userid' is what it is replaced with. Bug with a variable somewhere?

Having some fun with this, if ii enter 'id id id id id id id', it is saved as 'id userid userid userid userid userid". Lol....... all but the first 'id' is changed to 'userid'

please update at least those two files from the actual archive and I guess error is gone:

/admincp/arcade.php
/arcade/functions/dbclass.php

or just upgrade to v2.6.6+ and make sure to upload and overwrite ALL files

I have just found another occurrence of this bug

If a user enters "id" in high score comments the submitted text is prefixed with "user", for example a user entered:

"No idea what happened there"

The actual comment displayed is:

"No useridea what happened there"

I have also done a second test on this and confirmed that it is recreateable, in this test I entered:

"idea idea"

Which resulted in:

"idea useridea"

This is on version 2.6.6 and vb 3.6.8

I haven't found what is causing it yet. The string 'id' is being replaced with 'userid'. Those 2 strings are everywhere in vBulletin. Why the string 'id' is replaced with 'userid' in these circumstances is strange. I guess no one here, including myself, is smart enough to figure this one out.

this is caused by the database-driver this translates the former IPB-commands and -names to vBulletin

will think about a fix for this to keep userinput free of translation :)
