Game Not Scoring

Sound familiar..? :D
It's doing everything else it's supposed to, plays and exits fine but leaves the score at 0. It's retaining the scores somewhere because it displays the "only high scores are saved" message on lower scores but it's not writing or displaying the scores.

As usual the future of humanity depends on this game scoring :) so anybody got any ideas why it's not?

if you set your arcade to save only users top score per game, nothing gets saved or displayed after plaing if it is not the users best result so far.

That's not the issue, the game saves/reports all scores as 0. (zero)
However, should you play again and have a worse "actual" score, the arcade reads the original "best/actual" score (that it doesn't save or display) and displays the only high scores are saved message leaving everyone's score at zero.

It would be pretty hard to NOT beat zero. :erm:

Maybe this will explain it better.

and this happens to ALL games, to ALL users ?

Then I would need AdminCP+FTP access to find the reason for this, never saw this before...

No this is only happening on one game, all the others are saving scores fine. I was thinking I might be missing a file or maybe one of the database values needs to be changed. http://nfcsouth.net/bbs/images/smilies/shrug.gif

w00t! I got it saving scores! I've been hacking on this thing a while and tried quite a few things but apparently it needed it's own directory in gamedata.

But if nobody minds me hijacking my own thread I'd like to mention 1 other thing. :D
My who's online in the Arcade is somewhat iffy and requires a refresh to get a correct listing of who's in the arcade. I've run several different (IPB) versions of this arcade over the years and the who's online within the arcade has always been solid. With this vB version I can go into the arcade and it doesn't see me unless I refresh the page. Can that portion of code be tweaked to force a better listing of users in the arcade?

Picky aren't I? :D

I second that request. The whos online does not show me online if I enter the arcade. Only after a refresh.
