fav icon switch.
 
Does anybody know how long it takes when you switch your fav icon with another, for it to actually show up?

there is no limit. the favicon is stored in your browser's cache...

close all windows in your browser, go clear your cache, and restart your browser.. the fav will be updated.

I can't imagine what version of Firefox you're using, but in V2 it's just Tools>Clear Private Data.
