How do I integrate a vbulletin member name into a site?

Such as, have a mini-login for my vbulletin on my MAIN site and when they login, instead of showing a login form, it would show "Welcome back, Username!"?

I'm looking at the code for the vbulletin but it looks like a lot of work to use THAT particular code, does anyone know of a better way to do it in pure html/php/javascript/etc?
